ENGL 350: Lit of Alaska and YT - currently online but would need more work on activities and "lectures" no textbook is used. Would probably require a grader

DEVM 060: Intermiedate Algebra - currently online but uses online testing service - could be a candidate to use the OLI quizzing and might be a model for other devm classes

GEOG 302: Geography of Alaska - currently print course that doesn't use a text book. Lots of potential for making this a cool online course using google earth and real-time data. Depending on the content expert, development time would be on the upper end (not quite what we've done on MSL though).

ART 200: Aesthic Appreciate - currently online and uses textbook but instructor wants to move it to using online materials so a lot of the development time would be doing double duty. There should be lots of communities out there that someone would find interesting in joining.

Quick Course Suggestions - minimum development time

ECON 237: The Alaska Economy - doesn't use a traditional textbook but a lot of the readings are from books you can get on amazon. Additional and suggested readings are somewhere on the internet. WMS 201: Intro to Women's Studies - uses a textbook

Heidi agrees that this would be a good one to start with and would take minimal work to get it up and going in a new system. It is also a class that wouldn't have to have a grader keeping up with it.

HLTH F203

I nominate HLTH 203 as a good candidate for an initial development. I believe it meets the criteria for showcasing recent CDE work. Although it uses a textbook, the online version of the course also provides links to online material. This is a popular course with CDE, and probably would hold a lot of general interest for independent learners. I suspect there are numerous online communities that we could direct students to for discussion.

I don't know how to estimate development time/resources, but I think it would probably fall at the "quick" end of the spectrum for transfering the content to an open system. This course would probably benefit from a quizzing function that would allow students to self-assess.
