Draft 2009 Schedule

We're still working on the schedule for this year's iTeach. During the week we have discussed covering Digital Literacy, Outcomes, Blackboard, Elive, Assessments, and Learning Activities. If you have any thoughts about what topics should be on which days, feel free to tweak the schedule. Christen is checking on speaker availability.

Pre-iTeach Activities (We assign them a partner)

  • mini ubd
  • Get everyone on Ning
  • Have them introduce themselves on Ning as a blog post (post an image, links, ect) (PO for add-free name)
  • Get everyone on GoogleDocs
  • potluck/map information & what they need: laptop/powercords, content

  • 0830 - 0900 Welcome/intro - Alex Hwu (a few words)
  • 0900 - 0930 Carol? (rah rah, setting the stage) and Blog post in Ning
  • Break
  • 1000 - 1230 Digital Literacy I - Christen - Getting familiar with the browser and common tasks for online content generation. Have participants load images, create links, copy/paste embedded media (code), search.
  • 1230 - 1330 Lunch
  • 1330 - 1430 - Digital Literacy II - Christen - plugins and some other things I haven't quite decided on yet. (ClearCache...)
  • 1430 - 1445 Break
  • 1445 - 1600 - PLE Discussion + Activity - Chris
  • 1600 - 1700 Sage (Google Docs)

Day 2

  • 0800 - 0830 Coffee and breakfast
  • 0830 - 0900 Welcome/intro/reflection
  • 0900 - 0945 Speaker (John and Sine - both confirmed)
  • 0945 - 1000 Break
  • 1000 - 1100 Outcomes - Chris
  • 1100 - 1230 Outcomes Activity - Group
  • 1230 - 1330 Lunch
  • 1330 - 1500 Assessments (including IF, Blackboard (assignments, quizzes)) - Carol & Heidi
  • 1500 - 1515 Break
  • 1515 - 1630 Lab time: (Blackboard suggested organization and student enrollment)
  • 1630 - 1700 Synchronous communication tools: Skype and IM (Heidi)

Day 3

  • 0800 - 0830 Coffee and breakfast
  • 0830 - 0900 Welcome/intro/reflection
  • 0900 - 0945 Speaker - Chris Beks OIT Representative (Talk about Blackboard and support they can get from OIT)
  • 0945 - 1000 Break
  • 1000 - 1230 Learning Activities - Chris/Carol/Heidi
  • 1230 - 1330 Lunch
  • 1330 - 1445 Asynch Presentation - Heidi (Blackboard Discussion Board, VoiceThreads, slideshare, Youtube, etc...)
  • 1445 - 1500 Break
  • 1500 - 1600 Lab time (create activity for elive session on Thurs using slideshare, google docs, or powerpoint)
  • 1600 - 1700 Carol (Flickr)
Homework: Load Elive and talk to their partner (we create elive rooms for them for Thursday or use the room in their blackboard class?)

Day 4

  • 0800 - 0830 Coffee and breakfast
  • 0830 - 0900 Welcome/intro/reflection
