Proactive Support
- Periodic phone calls during the first semester (are you having any problems? do you have any questions?)
- Reminders of important dates (last day to drop, last day to withdraw, grades due, etc.) (as they come up, not just at the beginning of the semester)
- Reminder and/or help to contact non-responsive students.
- Help to create mid-term surveys to evaluate how the course is going
- Forwarding course evaluations to instructors (and design team) at the end of semester (or from yearlong students who have completed) design team receives copies
- Maintain a FAQ for instructors and/or students for online classes
- Help to determine if reusable learning objects could be created for use in multiple classes (like how to set up a blog that we've used in several classes)
- Reminder about updating welcome letters and make sure they get sent out
- Semester Letter to Faculty reminding them to change semester dates, clean out announcements, digital dropbox, disc threads, update schedule, check links (Shari is currently doing this - so check with her to see if she wants to continue)
