Things you'll like about using the List/Complete Link or Assignment Feature in Blackboard:
- One place to download files, give assignment grades, give feedback
- no messing with emails or filling up your email box
- Bulk download feature so that all files are put into one folder so you can grade all at once.
- Student are assured that the files have been submitted - they can check them in their gradebook.
- You won't have to worry about getting the right (or changing) email address - everything stays in blackboard
- When you create an assignment you don't have to link to a server for your photos - you can attach them directly to the assignment
- When you create an assignment you can set the assignment due date and number of points for the assignment.
- An entry in the grade center will automatically be created for you!
- You don't have to worry about limiting file size like you do with attachments in email
- Copies are maintained (and backed up) on the UA server
- No accumulated file size quota - student will not get an error message or be delayed until quota size is increased.
Things you may not like:
- You'll have to go into blackboard to get the files. You won't know when something new has been submitted unless you go to the grade center and see the green "!".
- If a student forgets a file and has already submitted the assignment to you - they can't go back and redo the assignment. Once its been submitted you would have to clear their attempt if they needed to resubmit for some reason. Hopefully this wont happen more than once on their part! Blackboard 9 will allow you to submit more than once.
